Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong was caught on camera telling a female fan to ‘suck my f***ing d*** b****’ after they became embroiled in a furious war of words on Sunday.

During the bottom of the fifth inning in the Cubs’ game against their city rivals White Sox, the ball was fired towards Crow-Armstrong in right center field.

The 24-year-old sprinted over to try and catch it as it flew towards the fence but he was unable to collect it in the air. Instead, the ball squirmed loose and allowed Miguel Vargas of the White Sox to tie the game up at 4-4.

But, on the opposite side of the fence to where Crow-Armstrong had just failed to make the catch, a female fan wearing a White Sox hat hurled abuse at him from just a few yards away.

Video footage shows her yelling ‘you suck’ in the direction of Crow-Armstrong while giving him the thumbs down. She claimed in a now-deleted post on X she was attending an engagement party in the ground-level seats.

But her criticism did not go down well with Crow-Armstrong who, understandably angered by his failed play, screamed back ‘suck my f***ing d*** b****’ before walking back towards the field.

It proved to be a frustrating day for Crow-Armstrong and the Cubs as they were beaten 9-8 by their Chicago rivals.

He addressed the incident with the female fan after the game and, when asked what happened, replied: ‘Some lady decided to start talking s*** and I felt the need to say it back.’

It is not the first time Crow-Armstrong has been involved in a verbal incident with fans. Earlier this season, he slammed some Los Angeles Dodgers fans when talking about his love for Chicago.

He said: ‘It’s just an incredible city. The people are great. They give a s***.

‘They aren’t just baseball fans who go to the game like Dodgers fans to take pictures and whatever. They are paying attention. They care.’

Crow-Armstrong, an All-Star, signed a six-year, $115million contract with the Cubs earlier this year.

He was selected by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2020 amateur draft before getting traded to the Cubs in the Javier Baez deal in July 2021.

The Daily Mail has contacted the Cubs for comment.
