The 2026 Baftas have kicked off at London’s Royal Festival Hall, as the film industry gathers for one of its biggest nights of the year.
On Sunday (22 February), actors including Timothée Chalamet, Paul Mescal, Michael B Jordan, Jessie Buckley and Emma Stone gathered for a star-studded ceremony honouring the best in British film. Follow along with all the updates on The Independent’s live blog here.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s dark comedy One Battle After Another entered the evening as the one to beat with a total of 14 nominations, with Ryan Coogler’s vampire flick The Sinners following closely behind with 13 nods.
