It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
Defender eyed by Man United and West Ham set for Saudi move
Tromso defender Abubakar Sedi Kinteh is close to joining Al Ahli.
The 19-year-old was watched by Manchester United earlier in the year while West Ham also held an interest. Belgian side Bruges made an approach too in recent weeks.
Kinteh is flying to Lisbon this evening from Dublin to sign contracts after his medical tomorrow.
Gunners close to deal for Phoenix – and look at Upson Jnr
Arsenal are closing in on a deal for highly rated Northern Ireland youth international Phoenix Blayney.
The 16-year-old goalkeeper also had interest from Liverpool and Nottingham Forest but is ready to sign for Arsenal, where he had a trial, alongside his U17 international team-mate Daniel McCarron, who is joining the Gunners from Dungannon Swifts.
Arsenal have also invited Cliftonville youngster Riley McCreery for a trial.
Arsenal are among the clubs talking to Tottenham’s Elijah Upson, son of ex-England international Matthew.
The 18-year-old defender is expected to leave at the end of this month but has other Premier League clubs circling too.
Martin calls in backroom team at Leicester
Conor Hourihane and Andy King are expected to form part of Russell Martin’s backroom team as he takes over as Leicester City boss.
Leicester stalwart King, 37, played more than 350 times for the Foxes and since served as first-time coach, including a spell as interim boss last season. Hourihane, 38, left his role as Barnsley manager at the end of the season.
Former Rangers and Southampton boss Martin was appointed on Monday and he said: ‘This is a club with great history, strong support and high expectations, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the club, the city and the supporters.
‘My immediate focus is on the team: building strong relationships, setting clear standards and creating performances that Leicester City supporters can connect with and be proud of.’

Bobby Dazzler! Derby eye return for young star Clark
Derby County are looking to pip West Ham to the signing of Bobby Clark from RB Salzburg.
Clark was on loan at Derby last season and talks are ongoing over the final details of a £6m deal.
The 21-year-old former Liverpool midfielder was Derby’s young player of the year last season, featuring in 45 matches in all competitions.

Bernardo heads to Madrid in Jose’s revolution
Real Madrid have announced the signing of 31-year-old Bernardo Silva after nine years at Manchester City.
Silva joins Marc Cucurella at the Bernabeu after new boss Jose Mourinho secured the £51.8m signing of the Chelsea star on Monday.
Mourinho rejoined Real last month, for a second spell after having previously managed them from 2010 to 2013.
