Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has blasted “vibe killer” Donald Trump for his planned visit to the NBA Finals, with watch parties being cancelled as a result.

The president, a longtime Knicks fan, confirmed last week that he will be at Madison Square Garden for Monday’s (8 June) game against San Antonio Spurs.

Watch parties outside the team’s home court will not go ahead due to Trump’s attendance. A spokesperson for the NYPD said that the decision was made in coordination with the Secret Service.

In an Instagram story posted on Sunday (7 June), AOC suggested that Mr Trump should not attend in order to allow the parties to go ahead.

“Sometimes you decide not to go to things so that other people can enjoy it,” she said.
