Kieran Trippier is understood to be considering cancelling his contract with Wolves following the sacking of Rob Edwards on Thursday.
The 35-year-old is angry and feels betrayed by Wolves. Edwards being in charge was key to his decision to join the club last week.
Several Molineux players have reached out directly to the 43-year-old Edwards to express their dismay at the decision.
Trippier cut short a holiday in Turkey to have a medical and sign for Wolves earlier this week.
The former England full back was viewed as an important signing by Edwards, who was eager to add the defender to his dressing room. As was Mexico’s Raul Jimenez, who signed this week and scored in his country’s World Cup win over South Africa on Thursday night.
Trippier chose Wolves over a number of other clubs, sold on the role Edwards foresaw for him.

The defender has essentially signed a pre-contract so joins Wolves on July 1, when his contract at Newcastle ends.
Trippier’s signing from Atletico Madrid in January 2022 was the catalyst for Newcastle’s resurgence under Eddie Howe as he helped set standards on the pitch and Edwards was looking for someone to help exert the same influence over his team, who finished bottom of the top flight.
As a result of Edwards’ departure, he is currently considering his options.
Before agreeing to join Wolves, Trippier had Premier League interest and options abroad, including in Saudi Arabia.
