Former MLB pitcher Noah Syndergaard has reignited his feud with ex-girlfriend Alex Cooper after claiming he still lives ‘rent free in her head’ nine years on from their split.
Syndergaard began dating the Call Her Daddy podcast host while playing for the New York Mets back in 2017, with the pair seen kissing at a Knicks game amid their on-off romance.
They appeared to call off the brief relationship towards the end of that year after the Mets star wrote on Twitter (now X) in December: ‘Baseball is my significant other’ with the hashtag ‘focus’.
Six years after going their separate ways, Cooper took aim at Syndergaard over his struggle to find a new team in MLB free agency, saying about him on her podcast: ‘He can’t get a f***ing contract. It’s not that I look [at MLB news], people just send me this s***’.
Now Syndergaard has finally responded to his ex during an appearance on Outkick’s Tomi Lahren is Fearless podcast.
‘I haven’t spoken to her in eight years or so,’ he said about Cooper’s cheap shot in 2023. ‘So, I guess I continue to live rent free in her head. I don’t really know.

‘Cheap shot, but she’s entitled to her own opinion and freedom of speech so I can’t really control what comes out of her mouth. It doesn’t really bother me. It’s kind of comical, but whatever.’
When Lahren claimed that Cooper has ‘changed a lot’ since their relationship, Syndergaard interrupted: ‘Not really.’
But he refused to discuss her any further, saying: ‘I don’t want to get into it. I don’t want to kick the hornets nest any more than I have.’
Syndergaard then revealed he is now in a relationship that he prefers to ‘keep under wraps’.
The 33-year-old last played in the major leagues with the Cleveland Guardians before being released by the team in 2023.
He was also cut by the Chicago White Sox in August of last year following a stint in the minor leagues.
Cooper, meanwhile, married film producer Matt Kaplan in April 2024.
