The Channel Island Jersey has seen an increase in interest among British travellers amid travel instability.

In response, airlines have increased their flight capacity between the UK and the island for this summer and next.

Jet2 announced last week that it is introducing flights and holidays to Jersey from Birmingham and Bristol from next summer, while extra capacity has been added from Manchester.

Jet2 already operates to Jersey from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle airports.

The change represents an increase in capacity of more than 140 per cent compared to this summer.

Tricia Warwick, the chief executive of Visit Jersey, said that Jet2 expanding its services “is a great boost for the island’s visitor economy and local businesses”.

“We look forward to continuing our work with Jet2 and Ports of Jersey, and to inspiring prospective visitors from these new markets to choose Jersey for their next getaway.”

Earlier this year, regional airline Loganair also announced it had launched three new direct routes that will connect Jersey to Britain and France.

The routes will connect Jersey directly with both Norwich and East Midlands airports and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Loganair has also launched increased capacity between Jersey and Bristol from 2 June, with additional flights offered on Tuesday and Friday and a choice of two services on a Sunday.

Jersey saw an 8.8 per cent increase in overnight leisure visitors in March 2026, alongside a 62 per cent year-on-year increase in unique visitors to the tourist board’s website.

A recent British Airways Holidays analysis for The Independent also ranked Jersey as the second most-searched short-break destination, beating Rome and Barcelona.

Due to the demand, Visit Jersey increased its marketing activity across March, April, and May to remind travellers that no passport is required and that the island can be reached by flights and ferries from over 20 UK departure points.

The tourism board noted that the return of Channel 4 series Bergerac, which is set and filmed on the island, has also increased interest in the island.
