Apply for access to AICC’s online learning courses

The Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre (AICC) has launched a free online platform to help individuals and organisations build practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills.

The AI Learning Lab features a Virtual Learning Environment with self-paced, expert-led courses, allowing users to fit learning around their work and life.

The platform currently features three core courses

  • Fundamentals of AI – helping you learn what AI is (and is not).
  • Prompt to Prototype – helping you turn ideas into working AI concepts.
  • Data Readiness for AI – helping you prepare your data for AI use.

These courses suit a broad audience and focus on practical steps, avoiding jargon and heavy theory. More courses will be added over the coming months to expand the range of learning opportunities for every technical skill level, from curious beginners to advancing practitioners.

How to apply

You are eligible to apply for access to the AICC’s Virtual Learning Environment if you are

  • over 18 years of age
  • eligible to work in Northern Ireland
  • settled in NI, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years
  • a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK

No experience or qualifications are required.

Because places are limited, learners will be selected through a short application process to ensure each cohort gets the support and attention they need. Access will be offered based on eligibility, readiness to engage, and alignment with AICC programme objectives.

Applications opened on 2 April 2026. The first batch will be reviewed and processed between 13 and 15 April 2026. After this, applications will be reviewed weekly.

Explore the AI Learning Lab and apply now.

The AICC is led by Ulster University, in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast. It receives funding from Invest Northern Ireland and the Department for the Economy, aiming to close Northern Ireland’s AI skills gap and support the region’s economy.
