An offseason report critical of the New York Jets front office and quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely originated with a disgruntled player’s agent, the four-time MVP told ESPN’s Pat McAfee on Tuesday.
‘[I] didn’t read the article but just reading the headline, it sounds like it was written by Haason Reddick’s agent,’ Rodgers told McAfee.
DailyMail.com has reached out to the disgruntled linebacker’s agents for comment but have not received a response.
That August report published by The Athletic was titled ‘NFL agents dish on best (and worst) franchise’ and included comments about a number of teams submitted by anonymous representatives.
In this case, the agent claimed there was ‘complete disarray’ at the Jets facility in Florham Park, New Jersey. The problems listed included Rodgers’ decision to skip minicamp after suffering a season-ending injury in 2023, as well as concerns that the quarterback held too much power within the franchise.
Aaron Rodgers thinks Haason Reddick’s agent was the person speaking to The Athletic
Haason Reddick has not played for the Jets since being dealt from the Philadelphia Eagles
‘They have been unable to convert him into a team player,’ the agent said. ‘The vibe inside the building is terrible.’
The comments coincided with Reddick’s ongoing holdout with the Jets following his off-season trade from Philadelphia.
Reddick, who was traded to the Jets in April from the Eagles, has yet to play or practice with the team as he seeks a new contract – and is costing himself almost $800,000 for every game he misses.
And before his team beat the Patriots on Thursday, Reddick shared a vague six-word statement on social media.
‘God will always make a way,’ he wrote on X.
While the meaning of his message was unclear, fans unsurprisingly brought up his ongoing holdout in the replies.
‘Just show up, it’s not that hard,’ another said.
‘Jets D needs you big dawg. Time to make a statement,’ a third added.

It was the first time that Reddick had posted on X since July 13.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted earlier this month that Reddick had already topped $5million in fines – penalties that were mandated by the league’s collective bargaining agreement.
Reddick will lose about $21.75 million if he sits out the entire season.
He previously requested a trade back on August 12 – just five months after being acquired via trade by the Jets from the Eagles.
However, the Jets said they would not be honoring his request.
Gang Green surrendered a conditional 2026 third-round pick to Philadelphia for Reddick, who recorded 50.5 sacks over his last four seasons.
The Jets are now 2-1 after Rodgers’ impressive performance in a win over the rival New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium on Thursday. New York now awaits the Denver Broncos for Sunday’s game in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
