Tennis power couple Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter have been torched for scheduling their wedding on the day of the men’s singles final at Wimbledon.
De Minaur, 27, and Boulter, 29, tied the knot in a secret ceremony in front of close family and friends on July 12.
The couple wed at a historic church in Leicestershire near Boulter’s home village, with the Daily Mail exclusively revealing details of the intimate service.
De Minaur and Boulter have received widespread congratulations for their achievement, but they have also been criticised for the date they chose.
Despite enduring a difficult season leading into Wimbledon, the Australian entered the tournament as the No.5 seed and was viewed as a contender to make a deep run.
Fans have since taken aim at de Minaur for scheduling the wedding on a day when he could potentially have been playing the biggest match of his career.

The date of the men’s singles final is known well in advance of the tournament every year and the nuptials would have required extensive planning, leaving fans to assume de Minaur believed he wasn’t a chance of reaching the final match of the tournament.
‘The date surprises me – what if he’d made it to the final….?’ one person asked on X.
‘He knew he wasn’t going to make the final?’ another asked.
‘Top 10 and booking your wedding during Wimbledon, talk about ambition,’ one user added.
‘Embarrassing date choice,’ another stated.
‘Does this mean what I’m thinking? The number 5 player in the world knew he wasn’t going to be in the Wimbledon final and already had his wedding planned for a long time on that day?’ another commenter said.
‘You gotta have a crazy loser mindset to plan your wedding during Wimbledon finals weekend when you’re planning on playing the tournament lol,’ added another tennis fan.
‘Oh my dear is 5th in the ranking and scheduled the wedding on the Wimbledon final day lmao the atp is a joke part 75648,’ another X user wrote.
‘Kinda weird to schedule your wedding for the day of a grand slam final like, don’t you have any faith in yourself?’ another said.
Many fans believe the scheduling of the wedding proves De Minaur (pictured with Boulter), who was the tournament’s No.5 seed, never believed he could win the title

‘Do you know how crazy this is?! Planning your wedding on the same day as the Wimbledon final (a competition you’re also competing in). That is a whole new level of confidence in your ‘inability’ to reach the final,’ one more stated.
The wedding took place before a small congregation of family members at the same time as the men’s final at Wimbledon.
Boulter dazzled in a long white gown with her blonde hair swept up as she tied the knot with her partner of six years.
She arrived at the church in the front seat of a black Porsche Carrera with her husband-to-be, who was smartly dressed in a black suit, white shirt and bow tie.
The couple, stepping out untraditionally together before getting hitched, smiled as they walked, bride first and groom behind, before a few well-wishers.
Locals had been banned from taking any photos.
Their nuptials were described as being ‘deliberately low key’ and ‘personal’ by a source, with only family members attending.
They were then followed by a celebration in a nearby pub – a world away from the public and media glare of the world’s most feted tennis championship.
