The lead play-by-play announcer for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs has reportedly been fired after he was accused of having an affair with a player’s sister.
Earlier this week, Jacob Tobey’s girlfriend accused him of infidelity in an explosive social media post on his own account in the middle of the night.
His girlfriend of six years accused him of being unfaithful with Loren Waters, the sister of Spurs star Lindy Waters III.
The post read: ‘This is my girlfriend of six years. But I cheated on her with Loren Waters. @lorenkwatrs So feel free to continue following me if you really think I’m a good guy because I’m not. :)’
The post included a strip of pictures that appeared to show Tobey and Waters kissing in a photo booth at a San Antonio bar.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Spurs and Tobey’s representatives for comment.

Waters III was signed by the Spurs 12 months ago after spells with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons. He only signed a one-year deal and his future remains unclear.
Tobey has been calling Spurs game since 2024 and has built up an impressive reputation within the sports media industry.
Last year, he earned a spot on Front Office Sports’ list of rising young play-by-play broadcasters.
Before landing the job with the Spurs, Tobey worked for 9News in Denver and called games for both Fox Sports and the Pac-12 Network.
The vacancy with the Spurs is an extremely attractive one, given the team’s recent run to the NBA Finals and core of promising young players, including the superstar Victor Wembanyama.
The Spurs were eventually beaten 4-1 in the NBA Finals by the New York Knicks, who won their first title since 1973.
