Up to £3,000 available for short-term community projects addressing poverty and harm to women and children.

The Randal Foundation Small Grants programme, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, offers funding for organisations in Northern Ireland delivering projects that reduce poverty and support women and children at immediate risk of harm.

Grants of up to £3,000 are available for projects lasting up to 12 months.

Funding priorities for eligible projects

Projects should align with at least one of the following themes

  • poverty alleviation within local communities
  • support for women and children at risk of immediate harm
  • action to address violence against women and girls
  • services for refugees and asylum seekers
  • wider initiatives tackling financial hardship

Preference is given to smaller, grassroots organisations, particularly those with lived experience represented in their governance or delivery.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants should be

  • registered charities, community groups or not-for-profit organisations
  • operating in Northern Ireland
  • in receipt of an annual income below £100,000

Eligible costs

Funding is limited to project costs and must relate directly to delivery within the approved timeframe.

The fund will not support

  • capital or building projects
  • advocacy or campaigning work
  • projects running longer than 12 months
  • fundraising events

Application process

Applications to the Randal Foundation Small Grant Community Foundation Northern Ireland can be submitted at any time and will be reviewed in the month following submission.
