While Prince William is yet to visit, England had a surprise guest from NFL royalty when Tom Brady dropped by their team hotel.

The former New England Patriots quarterback, regarded by many as the greatest American Football player of all time, was in Kansas City to open a store over the weekend.

And the 48-year-old, who is also a co-owner of Birmingham City, delighted Three Lions players when he headed to The Inn at Meadowbrook, where Thomas Tuchel and his men are staying, for a coffee with captain Harry Kane.

Kane is a huge Patriots fan and is close to Brady, one of the most recognisable faces in the US. And insiders have disclosed that the ‘low-key’ visit from the seven-time Super Bowl winner, went down a storm, with many of the World Cup squad huge NFL fans.

Brady, also a co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, has a number of business interests, including CardVault, a store which specialises in the buying, selling and exchanging of sports cards.

He opened his latest shop in the centre of the city, which is a 25-minute drive from England’s boutique hotel in the suburbs.

Brady’s visit marks the second time Kane has arranged for a high-profile sports star to drop by.

While England were at their pre-tournament camp in Florida earlier this month, the keen golfer brought in five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka to play a round with himself and others including John Stones, Jordan Pickford and Eliot Anderson.

Meanwhile, Sir David Beckham is among a number of VIP England supporters set to cheer the Three Lions on when they face Ghana in Boston, ironically the city where Brady made a name for himself, on Tuesday.

The former captain is set to be joined by a group of leading golfers following the conclusion of the US Open in nearby New Jersey.

Daily Mail Sport understands Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and the Fitzpatrick brothers are also due in Foxborough, the home of the Patriots, as England seek to build on their opening night 4-2 victory over Croatia.

Prince William is yet to visit, but it is likely that the Aston Villa fan will cross the Atlantic further down the line.
