The Los Angeles Police Department arrested a 19-year-old suspect on Thursday after a shooting at a World Cup watch party left a 50-year-old man hospitalized with multiple bullet wounds.
As confirmed to The Daily Mail by a department spokesperson, the shooting took place near Irolo Street and James M. Wood Boulevard in Koreatown at around 6:40pm. Neither the shooter nor the victim have been identified publicly. Likewise, the victim’s status has not been revealed.
Video from the LA Times shows the wounded victim on the ground near Seoul International Park, where crowds gathered for a public viewing of Mexico’s win over South Korea in Group A.
While onlookers tended to the shooting victim, the camera then moved to an armed officer aiming a rifle at an individual lying face down on the street.
‘Do not reach for anything,’ the officer is heard telling the suspect before asking for help locating the gun.
‘We don’t know,’ a woman can be heard responding.
