Bosnia & Herzegovina defender Sead Kolasinac produced a sensational clearance to stop a certain Canada goal during their 1-1 draw at the World Cup.

The Dragons managed to secure a point against the hosts in their Group B clash at the Toronto Stadium on Friday evening.

Bosnia & Herzegovina took a first-half lead with Jovo Lukic heading home after just 21 minutes, and it was Kolasinac who provided the crucial flick-on to find the striker from a corner.

However, Bosnia’s resistance was eventually broken just over 10 minutes from time, with super sub Cyle Larin finding the bottom corner with a deflected bending effort.

If it wasn’t for the former Arsenal cult hero, Bosnia would have walked away from their opener with nothing.

Eight minutes into the second half, Jonathan David found himself in space in the box, and he looked almost certain to draw the Canadians level, sliding the ball past Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.

Bosnia & Herzegovina defender Sead Kolasinac produced a goalsaving clearance from Jonathan David with his side leading Canada 1-0 in their World Cup opener

But just as it looked set to cross the line, Kolasinac miraculously cleared the ball onto the crossbar and away from danger.

Fans were left dumbfounded at how the 32-year-old managed to prevent an equaliser, with one X user writing: ‘Kolasinac with the clearance of the tournament to deny Canada a goal. This is legit save of the Tournament.’

Another then replied to that post saying: ‘I don’t know how it was possible, insane goal line clearance.’

Kolasinac put in such a shift for his country that he had to come off in the 84th minute due to cramp.

He was not the only Bosnian to produce some heroic defending in Toronto, as Tarik Muharemovic made a superb block to deny Larin a last-gasp winner in the final seconds of stoppage time.

The European side Switzerland in their next Group B match next Thursday, while Canada take on Qatar.
