A sudden health setback forced Alison Bell to walk away from a successful international career in information technology, but the unexpected challenge ultimately led her to discover a new purpose and profession she loves.
Before the injury, Alison had spent nearly two decades building a successful corporate career and had already developed an interest in the teachings of Louise Hay.
“I had been in corporate for the best part of 20 years,” she said. “I was in IT security, IT sales, I had a European role, I was flying all around the world – and then I had to leave that career.
“My son came into our bedroom one morning…”
The injury left Alison unable to work and significantly restricted her day-to-day activities. During that difficult period, she turned to online learning opportunities provided by Hay House.
Later that year, she attended an ‘I Can Do It’ event where she encountered training for Heal Your Life workshop leaders. The experience resonated deeply and inspired her to continue her personal and professional development in that field.
After qualifying in 2019, she began facilitating workshops and coaching programmes, helping others identify and overcome the beliefs that may be holding them back.
Today, Alison says she has found the career she was meant to do.
She is also developing her work within organisations through “Leading with Heart and Mind,” a programme that applies Louise Hay’s principles in professional environments.
The approach encourages employees to challenge limiting thought patterns while supporting workplaces that value wellbeing, personal growth and contribution.
According to Alison, people perform at their best when they feel respected and supported, and positive thinking plays a key role in shaping both individual experiences and organisational success.
