Former Fox Sports host Joy Taylor is set to launch a new ‘micro-podcast’ almost a year after her controversial departure from the network.

Taylor was cut by Fox in May 2025 in the wake of a bombshell lawsuit filed by an ex-employee, in which she was accused of sleeping with colleagues to boost her career.

Now the 39-year-old has finally found her next platform after agreeing to launch a new daily sports podcast called ‘The Daily Play with Joy Taylor’ on Urban One – a diversified media company which primarily targets Black Americans and urban consumers.

Taylor’s show is described as a micro-podcast, with each five-to-10-minute episode providing ‘sharp insight, authentic commentary, and cultural depth, offering perspective on the headlines that matter most,’ Urban One said in a press release.

‘The show is built on the philosophy that “nobody breaks down the game like a woman who actually knows it,”‘ it added.

Taylor, who spent nearly a decade at Fox before leaving the company last year, will mix her opinions in with the latest news while covering the biggest sports stories of the day.

‘I wanted to create something fast, focused, and always authentic,’ she said after her latest move was announced. ‘Sports fans are busy, but they want the context behind the conversation. With ‘The Daily Play,’ I’m giving them what it means and what to watch next—in just a few minutes.

‘Joining Urban One allows me to talk directly to a loyal, engaged audience across the country. I’m excited to get back to my radio roots!’

Taylor first joined Fox back in 2016 when she filled in for Kristine Leahy on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, before she eventually stepped up to become host of Undisputed and later Speak. She also hosted The Joy Taylor Show on Fox Sports Radio.

The Pittsburgh-born presenter previously spent five years in Miami radio prior to joining the network.

Her exit last year was part of a major shake-up at Fox, with the Speak program she hosted one of multiple shows that were canceled.

Taylor was cut by Fox months after former FS1 hairstylist Noushin Faraji listed her as a defendant in her shock lawsuit, along with top programming executive Charlie Dixon and former host Skip Bayless.

She was accused of using sexual relationships with colleagues, including Dixon and former ‘Speak’ co-host Emmanuel Acho, to further her career in the lawsuit filed by the ex-employee.

Acho, who was also released by Fox, shut down an episode of his podcast and stormed off last year after one of his co-hosts appeared to reference his alleged affair with Taylor.

In August, Taylor insisted that her Fox dismissal had ‘nothing to do’ with the lawsuit.

Speaking on the Hot Mics with Billy Bush podcast , she said: ‘I will say that that situation and that suit had nothing to do with the changes that happened at FS1.

‘I think from a logical standpoint, everyone can just look at it and see what the changes were and that there were three shows that were cut.’

‘It can be boiled down to, for the internet, as ‘Joy Taylor is no longer at FS1.’ And that’s a simple way of looking at it.

‘But the reality is, three shows were let go and a massive sports network shifted into a really aggressive, different direction.’
