Fans are convinced that Kai Trump broke the Masters ‘golden rule’ during her visit to Augusta National this week.

On Tuesday, the Daily Mail spotted the 18-year-old granddaughter of the president wandering around the grounds of the iconic Masters golf course in Georgia.

Two days later, Kai posted a series of photos from her visit to Augusta, which came days after mom Vanessa’s boyfriend Tiger Woods flew to rehab after his DUI arrest.

In the pictures, Kai was seen posing alongside American golfer Bryson DeChambeau and his caddie Greg Bodine, as well as showing off her day around Augusta.

However, the pictures quickly went viral as fans suggested that she had committed a cardinal sin at the world famous course in Georgia.

At the Masters, there’s a well-known electronics ban that prohibits fans from using phones, laptops, tablets and drones during tournament days.

That led fans to believe that the granddaughter of the president had in fact broken the Masters ‘golden rule’ after showing off her snaps from her visit.

However, after furious debate online, it became apparent that on Masters practice days, which is when Kai visited Augusta, ‘cameras are permitted for still photography and personal use’.

So, judging by the official rules list on the Masters website, Kai is in the clear.

However, there was still some confusion over the rules after former British Open champion Mark Calcavecchia was seemingly kicked off the course for using his phone during one of the practice days, according to a report from Golfweek.

When the outlet reached out to Calcavecchia, he neither confirmed nor denied whether that was the reason why he was forced to leave Augusta.

‘I’ve got nothing negative to say about Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, so I think we should literally hang up right now,’ he said before hanging up.

Augusta National Golf Club has not commented on the report.

In response to uproar surrounding Kai’s photos, Golf.com reporter Claire Rogers later said: ‘Some (very few!) people are allowed to have phones. The club gives you a sticker for your phone and if you have that you are good to go.’

YouTuber and golf influencer Kai, whose father is Donald Trump Jr., was also seen by the Daily Mail, hanging out by Augusta National’s famed clubhouse, where members Sir Nick Faldo and Annika Sorenstam were present.

Her visit comes days after Woods, 50, was detained after flipping his SUV while attempting to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed in the billionaire enclave of Jupiter Island in Florida. He was found with two pills in his pocket.

The scandalized golf legend is believed to have jetted to Switzerland last week to seek treatment after vowing to step away from the sport to focus on his health and recovery in the wake of his arrest.

Woods, a five-time Masters champion, was weighing up whether or not to play in the Masters at the time of his arrest. He was also due to be in Augusta this week for a series of events.

Vanessa, the former daughter-in-law of President Trump, has been dating the 15-time major winner since around Thanksgiving 2024, with the Daily Mail exclusively revealing their relationship in March last year.

In the wake of Woods’ latest accident behind the wheel – his fourth since 2009 – Vanessa has publicly shown her support.

The Daily Mail has reached out to tournament organizers for comment.
