A track star at Concordia University, Nebraska, was killed in a car crash that also injured three of his teammates.

Matthew Wing, 22, died in the crash which took place last week in Harrisonville, Missouri. Three other Concordia student-athletes were rushed to the hospital.

As reported by KOLN-TV, Wing was driving a Toyota Prius when it crashed head-on into a Ford Explorer shortly before 10.30pm.

‘Our Concordia Nebraska family is heartbroken,’ the university said in a statement.

‘We ask for your prayers during this time, for our campus and for the family and friends of the young men involved in this accident, that we can all find comfort in God’s love and healing grace.’

The 30-year-old driver of the Explorer was also rushed to the hospital following the collision, according to reports.
