NFL fans are convinced Drake cursed the New England Patriots on Sunday night after betting $1million on them to win the Super Bowl – before they were blown away by the Seattle Seahawks.
It proved a miserable evening in Santa Clara for the Patriots, who failed to end their seven-year wait for a championship as the Seahawks ran out dominant 29-13 winners.
Quarterback Drake Maye endured a night to forget at Levi’s Stadium, with Seattle’s ruthless defense sacking him six times and forcing him to throw two interceptions.
While Mike Vrabel’s men were outclassed by a formidable outfit, a number of New England fans are blaming Drake for their defeat at Super Bowl LX.
The Toronto rapper, who has lost several high-profile and big-money bets over the years, revealed late last week that he had put $1m on the Patriots to beat the Seahawks.
Social media quickly concluded that he had put his infamous ‘curse’ on the team, and after their blowout loss Drake was savaged by fans online.

But New England were well beaten by the Seattle Seahawks in Santa Clara on Sunday night
‘I hate this mother f***er so much,’ one Patriots supporter fumed.
Another user put: ‘the drake curse is actually the most consistent thing in sports history. poor patriots.’
‘And the Drake curse continues. Don’t ever bet on my team again,’ a third wrote.
‘Another entry in the ‘Drake Curse’ highlight reel,’ joked a fourth.
While a Seahawks fan said: ‘let’s go Seattle!!! Thank uuu @Drake’.
Drake has racked up a long list of expensive gambling losses over the years, while some fans believe his mere presence at sporting events has even cursed certain teams.
Back in November, the Canadian artist watched his beloved Blue Jays suffer an agonizing World Series defeat to the LA Dodgers, after he taunted rival player Shohei Ohtani on social media.
He posted a photo of Ohtani whiffing on a pitch from Trey Yesavage, and added the brutal caption: ‘Savage already [on the way] to the dugout boss lol.’

After taking aim at LA’s two-way phenom, Drake pulled up at the Rogers Centre in the hope of watching his team win Game 6 on Friday night to end their 32-year wait for a championship.
Yet much to the amusement of those aware of his apparent curse, Toronto failed to get over the line in a dramatic loss to Ohtani and the Dodgers.
Drake has previously lost a combined $1m bet on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA title and the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup, while also dropping $565,000 on Tyson Fury to win his undisputed heavyweight boxing showdown with Oleksandr Usyk, a fight he lost on points.
He has had some significant wins, too, including when he placed $1m on Lionel Messi’s Argentina to win the World Cup final in 2022 and $890,000 on Logan Paul to beat Dillon Danis in the boxing ring.
