New footage has showed Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior raging at Arsenal stars prior to their Carabao Cup semi-final clash on Tuesday night.

Chelsea were beaten 1-0 on the night by Mikel Arteta’s side, with Kai Havertz scoring in second half stoppage time for the Gunners.

The Blues had been caught on the break having attempted to level the tie following a 3-2 first leg defeat, but Rosenior’s side ultimately bowed out of the competition after a 4-2 aggregate loss.

Footage has since emerged of a fired-up Rosenior swearing at Arsenal stars in the warm-ups before the match.

Rosenior had been watching his Chelsea side prepare for the match at the Emirates, but the 41-year-old’s attention was drawn by Arsenal players straying into their half of the pitch during the warm-up.

The visibly annoyed Chelsea boss could be seen shouting towards either Arsenal players or staff, while giving them an X-rated order to stay in their half.

‘Stay in your half, stay in your f*****g half,’ Rosenior could be seen shouting.

‘F***ing stay there,’ Rosenior repeated, as the Chelsea boss walked towards the touchline while gesturing to the apparent offender.

Rosenior was then seen complaining to a member of his backroom staff about the incident.

The Chelsea head coach continued to stare in the direction of their rivals, before repeating ‘stay there’ for a final time.

Rosenior had adapted his approach for the match, with Chelsea lining up in a back three against the Gunners.

Chelsea restricted the hosts to only a handful of chances with the match remaining delicately poised in the first half.

Rosenior attempted to turn the tie in Chelsea’s favour with the introductions of Cole Palmer and Estevao on the hour mark.

Alejandro Garnacho, who had scored Chelsea’s two goals in the first leg, was introduced in the 75th minute as they pushed to level the tie.

Chelsea would ultimately have just two shots on target in the second leg, with pundit Paul Merson accusing the Blues of going out of the competition ‘with a whimper’.

Rosenior defended his approach post-match and stressed that his Chelsea side had executed their game plan, but admitted they lacked quality in the final third to break through Arsenal’s defence.

‘I’ve been here for less than a month and we’ve had eight games in that time, so I have to give the players so much credit for putting the performances in that they have put in, and show they’re learning, showing the spirit, the togetherness, and that the fight of the team is there,’ Rosenior said.

‘There are a lot of encouraging signs, but now we need to see what we look like after a setback.

‘We need to react positively in a difficult game away at Wolves on Saturday. I need to see what our reaction is.’

The two legs of the semi-final are the only defeats Rosenior has overseen since taking charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have won all three of their Premier League games since he took charge, including their dramatic 3-2 victory over West Ham having trailed 2-0 at half-time.

The Blues have also advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup and the last-16 of the Champions League in recent weeks.
