  • Gold Coast Titans star took on a big adventure in NRLW off-season

NRLW star Jaime Chapman has posted a gallery of stunning images after getting out of her comfort zone in a recent trip to Africa.

The 23-year-old centre, who plays for the Gold Coast Titans, posted a gallery of photos to Instagram this week documenting her time on the East African archipelago, a destination known for its beaches, spice plantations and historic Stone Town.

‘A trip that taught me lessons I didn’t know I needed,’ Chapman wrote alongside the images, which quickly drew thousands of likes and supportive comments from teammates and supporters.

The photos show Chapman swimming in clear blue water near rocky coastal formations, relaxing on a small boat over bright turquoise seas and exploring cave-like lagoon pools popular with visitors.

Other shots capture her on safari in an open vehicle, calmly observing lions resting under a tree, as well as giraffes and antelope gathered on the savannah.

Chapman also shared close-up images of sea turtles in shallow water, suggesting a snorkeling or marine encounter during her stay.

In another picture, a small monkey perches on her shoulder as she sits by a tree wearing a jersey emblazoned with ‘Zanzibar.’

Beyond the postcard scenery, several images point to a deeper cultural and community experience.

Chapman is pictured visiting what appears to be a local classroom or village, spending time with children and, in one scene, handing out items such as shoes on a sandy field.

A mix of black-and-white and colour photos show her sitting with girls in sports uniforms and holding a young child while carrying a backpack and water bottle.

One image shows the Kamilaroi woman wearing a flowing dress and headpiece in a rural setting with thatched structures and livestock in the background.

Others include a motorbike ride along a dirt road through green countryside and a visit to a local fruit market stacked with pineapples and bananas.

Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania about 25 to 50 kilometres off the mainland, is a popular tourist destination for its white-sand beaches and diving spots, as well as Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, home to the rare red colobus monkey.

The islands also carry a complex history shaped by Swahili, Arab and European influences and a past tied to the spice and slave trades.

It comes after a rollercoaster year for Chapman in 2025 including her high-profile split from NRL star Hamiso Tabui-Fidow.

Chapman ended her relationship with Tabuai-Fidow after an explicit video surfaced showing him with another woman, bringing their high-profile romance to an abrupt end.

The pair had only started dating in December, quickly becoming one of rugby league’s most talked-about couples.

Sources said Chapman chose to break it off once the footage emerged, despite both being in the middle of major representative seasons.
