Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has been left disgusted at the habit of Aussie TV presenter and former pop star Sophie Monk.

Both Sinner, and Monk have recently been spotted taking part in the Australian Open edition of popular broadcaster Andy Lee’s ‘The Hundred’ game.

The program featured Lee asking Monk and tennis star Sinner, a question and what percentage of Australian citizens they believe engage with a certain topic.

Sinner has been left stunned after Lee began asking what percentage of Aussies the pair thought broke spaghetti before boiling it, which is almost seen as a sin in Italian culture

‘Mamma Mia’, he said after hearing it.

His mood then became even more downcast, after Monk revealed she doesn’t just break the pasta once, she often breaks it into three different sections.

‘Soph(ie) do you do that (break pasta before boiling it)?’ Lee asked.

‘Yeah, I might even go three-way because I find that on my fork it’s always long, and too long,’ she replied.

Lee then took it upon himself to try and smooth things over with the Italian tennis star.

‘I’m so sorry about her’, he said with a nervous smile.

The two-time defending Australian Open champion then straight batted his answer.

‘Yeah I don’t comment’, he responded.

Monk guessed 80 per cent of Aussies engage in the controversial pastime, whereas Sinner only believed 44 per cen did.

The World No.2 was the closest, with it being revealed that just 37 per cent of Australians break pasta before boiling it.
