Tammy Abraham is open to rejoining Aston Villa from Besiktas later this month.
Villa are trying to bring back the former Chelsea forward, who spent a successful season on loan at Villa Park in 2018-19, to improve their attacking options.
Though Abraham is performing well at Besiktas and is settled in Istanbul, the prospect of a return to the Premier League is one he is considering seriously.
Financial regulations mean Villa must act carefully in the winter window though they remain hopeful of concluding a permanent deal for Abraham, 28, in the coming days.
Since leaving Chelsea in 2021, Abraham has had spells with Roma and AC Milan before moving to Turkey. He is considered a reliable option and strong alternative to Ollie Watkins.
Tammy Abraham has scored 12 goals in 24 games on loan at Besiktas from AC Milan
The striker scored 26 goals in 40 games on loan at Villa during the 2018-19 season, helping to steer them back to the Premier League
Villa were poised to allow Donyell Malen to join Roma on loan on Tuesday, and the clubs still have to reach an agreement about the future of Leon Bailey.
Roma would like to cut short the season-long loan deal for the Jamaican and though Villa are under no obligation to do so, it may smooth the way for other deals.
