  • England trails 2-0 in Ashes series
  • Also testing times off the field

England cricket fans have been ripped off yet again in Adelaide, after it was revealed the touring side’s merchandise is more expensive than Australia’s.

The revelation was made on social media, following the controversy surrounding Alex Carey marred day one of the third Test.

An image has surfaced online showing the Australian playing shirt with a price tag of $130 – while an England shirt inexplicably cost an extra $150.

Fans have since responded to the post made by 7Cricket on X, poking fun at the dull colour of Australia’s shirt.

‘TBF (to be fair) the Aussie shirt looks stained so it makes sense,’ one said.

‘Why is Aussie jersey more dull?,’ another wrote.

‘$20 for better detergent’, another added.

It comes after fans and commentators slammed the mistake from the third umpire in Carey’s innings on December 17.

Carey nicked a ball behind when on 72, but was given not out on the field.

The decision was reviewed by England, with no change being made because the Snicko technology showed a considerable spike before the ball reached the bat but nothing when it was closer.

Officials have since confirmed Carey should have been dismissed.

England fans were furious, with claims of cheating rocking the Ashes series after Carey went onto make a century.

The home side then had their review reinstated by the ICC after Snicko operator BBG Sports admitted they got the decision wrong.

Even Aussie cricket legend Ricky Ponting leapt to England’s defence.

He claims the Snicko technology used in Australia is not trustworthy.

‘This technology that we are using here (in Australia) is simply not as good as technology that is used in other countries,’ he told Channel Seven.

‘You talk to the umpires, they’ll tell you the same thing. They can’t trust it.’

Australia only need to draw the third Test to retain the Ashes.
