Green Party leader Zack Polanski said his party offered voters “hope, courage and a plan” following their victory in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
The Greens’ Hannah Spencer beat Reform UK and Labour into second and third place respectively in the Greater Manchester poll, which was triggered by the resignation on health grounds of former Labour MP Andrew Gwynne.
Polanski was asked by Radio Manchester’s Joe McGrath whether the decades-long domination of British politics by Labour and the Conservatives was now over.
He said it was, and contrasted his party’s values with those of Reform UK.
