Yankees fans slam star player for partying with rap royalty in nightclub days after playoff blunder

While The Bronx is still shrouded in despair over a 16th year without a World Series title, New York Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. appears to have already bounced back from his playoff heartbreak.

The Yankees’ season came to yet another brutal end last week when the Toronto Blue Jays sent them packing with an American League Division Series win in a do-or-die Game 4 in The Bronx – just one year removed from their crushing five-game World Series defeat.

The knockout loss, which marks the 16th straight year without a 28th ring for the Yankees, sent New York fans into a meltdown, especially over Chisholm’s botched double play.

In the seventh of the deciding 5-3 defeat, the infielder had the chance to end the inning on a double-play ball to leave the Yankees trailing by just one. Instead, he made a costly error that led to two unearned runs for the Blue Jays.

But Chisholm appears to have already brushed off the blunder as he partied away the pain of another early postseason exit with rappers 50 Cent and A Boogie at Manhattan nightclub, Petite Disco.

In a photo shared to 50 Cent’s Instagram account, Chisholm could be seen holding up a bottle of Le Chemin du Roi – ‘The King’s Path’- which is the rapper’s own brand of champagne and, ironically, an official sponsor of the Yankees’ bitter rivals, the Houston Astros.

Next to Chisholm, 50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson III, was captured holding a bight pink cup, while A Boogie, a Bronx native whose real name Artist Dubose, posed in the background.

The photo, which was shared less than a week after the Pinstripes’ playoff defeat, drew ire from New York fans as they slammed him for ‘having fun’ so soon after the crushing exit.

One furious supporter took to social media to hit out, posting: ‘What the hell is he doing having fun!!!! He’s supposed to be clinically depressed now that we lost!!!!!!’

‘I like Jazz, but just chill a little bit and relfect (sic) on the season,’ a second urged, while anothr disgruntled fan added: ‘Can’t even wait a week after the L.’

Others agreed. seemingly believing that the second baseman had failed to wait out the adequate mourning period before hitting the club.

‘Jazz looks like he already got over the Error,’ one posted, while another branded Chisholm an ‘Embarrassment to the pinstripes.’

‘Could be playing tonight if he could hit in the postseason and not make an error in a big spot,’ a third chimed in.

One fan even referred to Chisholm’s evident playoff fatigue when he was caught yawning in the middle of Game 3.

‘little less night life and he wouldn’t be yawning on the field in a post season game. Trade Jazz,’ they wrote.

Chisholm hit .242 and registered 31 homers this season, but struck out too much, tallying a total of 148 times in 130 games.

But his real downfall came in the crucial Game 4  when he failed to seize the chance to seal the frame-ending double play.

With one out and Ernie Clement on first base, Toronto’s Andres Gimenez sent a well-struck grounder to Chisholm.

The baseman could have fielded and flipped to Anthony Volpe but the ball bounced off the heel of his glove and rolled into center field to extend the inning for the Blue Jays, who now had two players on base.

The blunder ended pitcher Cam Schlitter’s night and two batters later Devin Williams surrendered a two-run single to Nathan Lukes to give the Blue Jays a three-run edge.

‘Didn’t think it was going to play the way it played,’ Chisholm said. ‘Been thinking about that since the play happened. Still thinking about it now. At the end of the day, we got to move on eventually. I got three months to move on now.

‘I’m probably going to be thinking about this when the season starts next year.’
