League One club Bolton Wanderers have signed midfielder Xavier Simons on a four-year deal from Championship side Hull City for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old joined the Tigers, initially on loan, from Chelsea in September 2022 and made the move permanent the following year.
England Under-20 international Simons made 38 Tigers appearances and scored two goals during his time on Humberside.
“I’m made up to be joining Bolton Wanderers – it’s a proper football club with a big history and fantastic support,” he told the club website., external
During his time at Hull, Simons also spent time on loan at Fleetwood Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
“He’ll bring real energy and a competitive edge to our midfield options,” said Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher.
“He’s got good legs and isn’t afraid to put a tackle in and has a great passing ability – an all-round midfielder.
“His grounding at Chelsea means he’s technically sound and he knows what this division is about from his time at Wycombe, on top of his Championship experience with Hull.”
