Elon Musk’s social media platform X appears to be down, with thousands of users reporting outages.
More than 35,000 users reported issues accessing the social media platform on Monday morning, according to DownDetector, a website that tracks digital outages. The reports peaked around 10 a.m. Eastern time, about 30 minutes after users first started flagging issues.
One user commented on the DownDetector page that “posts aren’t loading right now,” while another user added, “comments aren’t loading.” Others shared jokes about the outage, with one user writing, “It’s the Monday of all Mondays.”
It’s still unclear what’s causing the apparent outage. The Independent has reached out to X for comment.
