Bret Hart has ripped former WWE rival Hulk Hogan as ‘such a liar’ over a controversial moment from WrestleMania IX.
Prior to WrestleMania IX in 1993, Hogan showed up with an extremely noticeable black eye, which some at the time attributed to Hart’s feud with Randy Savage.
The black eye moment is broken down in the forthcoming Peacock documentary Becoming a Spectacle, and it’s clear that there is some still bad blood between Hart and Hogan as the former recounted the situation.
‘I never knew what happened, and I still don’t,’ Hart told TMZ.
‘Hulk Hogan’s always been such a liar. Whatever he tells you is probably not true. Macho Man, I’d go by his account of things. Macho Man was a much more reliable guy that spoke the truth.’
In a clip from the documentary published by TMZ, Hart recalls seeing Hogan with a ‘good shot in the eye,’ while The Undertaker spoke about the rumors that the shiner fueled.

Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan were often pitted against one another during their careers

‘Of course, everyone knows that Savage and Hogan didn’t get along,’ he said. ‘So it didn’t take long for the rumors to start flying around.’
The comments from Hart come amid a massive Hogan family feud, as the wrestler’s ex-wife Linda, posted a troubling video in which she accused the WWE star of being a ‘complete liar’ and a ‘sex addict’.
Their daughter Brooke, 36, later fired back to spark a fierce back-and-forth between mother and daughter, as Linda then performed a dramatic U-turn by defending Hulk – whose real name is Terry Bollea.
Hogan then appeared to troll his family by sharing a video on Instagram which shows him eating popcorn next to his current wife Sky while looking on in astonishment.
Hart and Hogan had their issues during their wrestling careers, with Hogan turning down the chance to fight Hart at Summerslam in 1993.
In another memorable moment at WrestleMania IX, Hogan – who had returned to WWE after leaving the company for about a year – somehow walked away with the championship despite not being initially billed for the match.
Hart lost to Yokozuna as he attempted to defend his belt, but Hogan later went to the ring and clotheslined the short-lived champion to the ground in an impromptu title defense.

‘Bret Hart thought I basically sabotaged his career,’ Hogan said on the Full Send podcast.
‘Because Bret thought he should have been the greatest wrestler that ever lived and he said it was my fault.’
Hogan also claimed on the IMPAULSIVE podcast that Hart hates ‘everybody,’ but still had kind words to say about his rival.
He called Hart a ‘great asset’ and a ‘good guy.’
‘I love Bret to death, man.’
