WWE legend Marc Mero has revealed the heartbreaking way he discovered that his ex-wife was having an affair with one of his fellow wrestling icons.
The 65-year-old was married to WWE icon Sable, whose real name is Rena Lesnar, for 10 years, even adopting her daughter from a previous marriage to Wayne Richardson.
However, the former wrestling power couple divorced in 2004 amid allegations of cheating made by Mero.
He claimed that Sable was cheating on him with Brock Lesnar, who she went on to marry in 2006.
Mero has now opened up on the ugly split, detailing the moment he discovered that Sable was having an affair – and who with.
Speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Mero explained that after Sable returned to the WWE in 2003, he was no longer with the company and instead stayed at home to look after their daughter, Mariah.

He said that Sable would call home to say goodnight to Mariah every night while she was on the road. However, the phone calls began to dwindle.
‘Mariah wouldn’t get to talk to her mom, so she’d be a little upset, saying things like, “I didn’t get to talk to Mom today,” you know,’ he said.
At the time, as Mero recounted, he got frustrated with the situation and left a harsh voicemail for Sable. However, after later feeling guilty, he tried to delete it.
‘I remember I got really upset because I’d call her and it’d just go to voicemail,’ he continued.
‘So I called up and left this really nasty message like, “You know, why don’t you – what is wrong with you? Your daughter’s upset, I’m upset.” Then I felt really bad because I know what it’s like being on the road. We each had a combination to get into each other’s phones, so I could call back and delete my message.’
Yet, when he went to delete his own message, Mero discovered a voicemail from another man.
‘I got to listen to this first message, which was a male’s voice talking about their night before and apologizing to her. It was just really heartbreaking, like she’s with somebody else,’ he said.
Mero claimed that when he confronted Sable about the voicemail, their marriage quickly crumbled. ‘I played it, and she just said, “I want a divorce,”‘ Mero said. ‘That was it.’

However, Mero did not learn that Sable’s secret lover was Lesnar until long after the split as she refused to reveal his identity.
‘It was later on. I mean, it was a while. She never would tell me who it was,’ he said. ‘You know, the amazing thing about forgiveness is – people say, “How do you forgive somebody?” For me, it’s real easy. When they mention her name, I don’t get angry anymore.
‘And I wish them the best. They’ve got great kids, and my life couldn’t be better.’
Sable eventually married Lesnar in 2006 and the couple welcomed two sons together.
After finding love with Lesnar, she ceased almost all of her public appearances and was only ever occasionally seen supporting her husband at the odd UFC pay-per-view.
Meanwhile, Mero found love again, marrying for a second time in 2009 to Darlene Spezzi but they also split a decade later.
He wed for a third time last December, tying the knot with his partner Malissa in a private ceremony.
