Wrexham are reportedly ready to smash their transfer record for the second time this window as they look to bolster their attack.

The Red Dragons are set to sign Ipswich Town striker Nathan Broadhead for £10million having already signed eight players so far this summer.

Josh Windass and Danny Ward have joined Phil Parkinson’s on free transfers from Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City respectively.

They have secured the signing of former Plymouth man Ryan Hardie for £700,000 – while Liberato Cacace and George Thomason moved to north Wales for a combined total of £3.4.

Ex-England and Wolves defender Conor Coady and former Sheffield United frontman Kieffer Moore have also joined this summer.

The Robins have enjoyed a meteoric rise through the divisions since being taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney back in November 2020 in a deal that was completed in February 2021.

In 2022-23, they finished the National League season with a whopping 111 points to seal promotion to the Football League for the first time in 15 years.

Now, they are just one division away from the top flight after two promotions in a row from League Two and League One respectively – making them the first-ever club to achieve such a feat in England’s top five leagues.

Wrexham will be hoping to clinch their first Championship win this weekend when they welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday.

They looked to have clinched all three points in their league opener against Southampton last weekend before Will Still’s side scored two goals in stoppage-time to snatch victory.

However, they did bounce back in midweek by defeating Hull City on penalties in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Ollie Palmer was the hero as he scored twice in injury-time himself to take the game to a shootout which Wrexham won 5-3.
