YouTube phenomenon MrBeast had a moment to forget in the Sidemen charity match.

The platform’s most subscribed creator with a staggering 371 million subscribers, you would have expected MrBeast to be able to hack the pressure of playing at Wembley in front of a comparatively measly 90,000 fans.

Representing YouTube All Stars, his side found themselves trailing inside 10 minutes to a Joe Weller penalty, but were given a gilt-edged opportunity to draw parity after Niko Omilana was wiped in the box.

Needing a cool head with millions watching from home, the ever-smiley MrBeast stepped up to the spot hoping to tuck home past Canadian streamer xQc – who earned ignominy in this match’s 2023 rendition as he conceded eight goals.

xQc looked hopeless in net during his London Stadium outing 18 months ago – but in a moment of redemption, he got down low to deny MrBeast’s tame penalty effort, to the adulation of the sold-out Wembley crowd.

The streamer then put both his thumbs up to his teammates, almost as if to say he always had the situation under control.

However, xQc’s clean sheet would only last two more minutes, with ChrisMD making amends for MrBeast’s blunder by firing a picture-perfect free-kick into the top corner.

Fans were furious that the penalty was not given to YouTube All Stars captain and streaming sensation Speed, who went in today’s game looking to finally get his first Sidemen charity match goal in his third outing.

The Wembley faithful would eventually get their wish though, as Speed stepped up in the second half to slot home YouTube All Stars’ fifth of the afternoon from the spot, promptly hitting the the iconic ‘SIU’ celebration in homage to his idol Cristiano Ronaldo.

One fan commented on X: ‘Speed finally scoring a goal (a terrible penalty) and then hitting the siu right after in front of a packed crowd celebrating with him. He really has the Ronaldo thing down to a tee.’

Elsewhere in the action-packed clash of creators, Zerkaa ended his nine-year wait for a Sidemen charity match goal in one of the more popular strikes of the day.

Similarly scoring from the penalty spot – there were an array of goals from open play, mind you – Sidemen member Josh slotted past Sketch in goal before wheeling away in celebration, which saw both managers, Calfreezy and TheBurntChip, join in.

YouTuber turned WWE superstar Logan Paul also got in on the action, combining with lifelong wrestling fan Weller to hit a suplex celebration before pinning the Wafflin’ co-host, with fans playing their part in chanting the three-count.

The sell-out crowd got their money’s worth, seeing 18 goals in a thrilling 9-9 draw to force a penalty shootout to decide a winner.
