World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has offered a rare glimpse into his private life, opening up about the heavy ‘sacrifice’ his wife, Meredith, makes to support his golfing career.
The two-time Masters champion is typically fiercely private when it comes to his family life, but he pulled back the curtain just as the pressure reached a boiling point at the US Open.
With the final round of the tournament falling on Father’s Day, Scheffler reflected on the unique challenges of balancing life at the top of the PGA Tour leaderboard with raising a family at home.
‘It takes a lot of work for me to be able to do this for a living, and it’s a lot of sacrifice for [Meredith],’ Scheffler shared in a candid interview with PEOPLE.
‘To be able to celebrate those moments for both of us is really cool,’ the 30-year-old added.
The high school sweethearts, who tied the knot in 2020, have seen their household expand significantly over the last two years, welcoming their eldest son, Bennett, in 2024 and a second son, Remy, earlier this year.

With two kids under two now in the picture, the at-home responsibilities have amplified whenever Scheffler is away traveling from tournament to tournament.
While the American has struggled to find his best form this week, his perspective remains firmly anchored by the support system waiting for him behind the ropes.
A spectacular finish on Sunday would make for the ultimate Father’s Day celebration, though Scheffler is well aware it will take a monumental effort to chase down the leaders – with Wyndham Clark leading the way by a staggering six shots.
The tournament appears to be his to lose, although the Shinnecock Hills course has been causing carnage for plenty of his rivals throughout the week.
With Scheffler tied for second, albeit by some distance, Clark has not quite wrapped up his second major win just yet.
Off the course, however, it appears that a newfound happiness is behind the 32-year-old’s impressive form this year.
He went public at The Masters with new girlfriend, influencer Emily Tanner, at the iconic par-3 contest before recording a career-best finish of 21st at Augusta.
Last month, he won The CJ Cup Byron Nelson with a scintillating final round of 60 and now he stands on the brink of a stunning victory at the course held this year a short distance outside of New York.
Tanner was waiting for Clark on the edge of the 18th green on Saturday night as he left the course with a commanding lead. She shared a picture of Clark’s score on her Instagram story, captioning the image: ‘Proud x100000’.
