A 15-year-old girl and a 60-year-old woman have died in a house fire.

Fire crews and the police were called to the blaze in Bletchley, near Milton Keynes, at about 12:10 BST.

The flames were “quickly” brought under control, but the pair died at the scene, Thames Valley Police said.

“Their deaths are currently considered unexplained and an investigation is under way,” a force spokesperson added.

They described it as an “incredibly sad” incident, and said the victims’ next of kin were being supported.

St Patrick’s Way has remained shut since the fire, with emergency workers hoping to reopen it later.

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this tragic fire,” the spokesperson said.
