Wolves sack manager Vitor Pereira after dreadful start to the season which has left them bottom of the table

Wolves have parted company with manager Vitor Pereira with the club rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

Pereira, 57, becomes the fourth top-flight boss to be sacked this season after presiding over a winless start to the 2025-26 campaign which has included eight defeats from 10 matches.

The former Fenerbahce and Corinthians boss was only handed a new three-year deal in September with Jeff Shi, the club’s chairman, saying Pereira ‘needs time to work with the squad, to build a chemistry with new players, and we will do everything to support him and his staff.’

But Shi’s hand has been forced after Saturday’s abject 3-0 defeat at Fulham in the Premier League.

Pereira arrived in the Black Country last December and steered the club away from trouble to finish 16th in the table.

The following summer saw significant upheaval of the playing squad, with the likes of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo among the key names to depart Molineux.

A dreadful start to the season which has left the club rock bottom and six points from danger had increased pressure on Pereira, though, and defeat at Fulham proved the final straw.

Pereira’s the fourth boss to be given the shove this season after Graham Potter, Nuno Espirito Santo and most recently Ange Postecoglou.

Wolves find themselves already eight points adrift of 17th-placed Burnley and in danger of ending their seven-year stay in the Premier League.

Before the November international break, the Midlands club face Crystal Palace.
