Washington Mystics guard Jade Melbourne was left with a gruesome injury on Thursday night after being elbowed by an opponent.
Melbourne was guarding the Las Vegas Aces’ Chelsea Gray when the six-time All-Star inadvertently caught her in the face while trying to create separation.
Melbourne immediately held her mouth and left the court, and it became clear that she was bloodied and missing a tooth once she returned to the bench.
Following the game, Melbourne’s teammate Georgia Amoore also shared a photo of the injured player, as she smiled and put two thumbs up for the camera.
Melbourne also wrote on an Instagram story that she was ‘all good’ – along with two laughing-crying emojis – as she re-posted a picture of her injury.
Ultimately, Melbourne played just one minute in the contest before departing with two points.

However, Washington still managed to get the win as Sonia Citron led the team with 21 points.
Sug Sutton also added 17 points for Washington in their 94-83 win.
The Mystics are set to face the Dallas Wings on Saturday.
And Melbourne, who’s averaged 6.5 points per game this season, looks set to be available for the matchup.
Washington (8-8) will look to get over a .500 win percentage in that game.
