WNBA veteran Brianna Turner has made a bombshell allegation against her former team, claiming that Indiana Fever players were ‘encouraged to keep quiet’ after a male staff member was fired for sexual harassment last season.
The 28-year-old Las Vegas Aces forward made the explosive claims in a social media thread on Wednesday night while addressing the broader discourse surrounding transgender athletes in women’s sports.
Reflecting on her time with the Fever during the 2025 season, Turner argued that systemic issues like sexism and harassment pose a far greater threat to female athletes than trans inclusion.
‘An issue that has caused problems though? Last year on my WNBA team a male staff member was fired for sexual harassment, but we were encouraged to keep quiet about it,’ Turner wrote in a post on X.
‘That is an issue. Sexism, misogyny, homophobia, and racism are all issues.’
Turner’s comments come directly on the heels of controversial remarks made by her former Indiana teammate Sophie Cunningham, who recently stated in an ESPN interview that she wants to ‘protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.’

Without naming Cunningham directly, Turner pushed back against the focus on trans athletes in sports, noting that in her eight years in the WNBA, the single out trans player ’caused zero problems.’
She wrote on X: ‘A tiny minority of the population identifies as trans, yet they are always a trending topic unfortunately. I’m in my 8th season as a WNBA player. To date there’s been one out trans player in the league. They caused zero problems.’
The Indiana Fever issued an official statement on Thursday in response to Turner’s allegations, emphasizing their commitment to player safety while declining to elaborate on specific internal investigations.
‘Protecting our players and employees and maintaining a respectful, professional workplace is our top priority,’ the organization said in a statement.
‘Our policy is to take concerns seriously, investigate thoroughly, and act promptly when appropriate to protect the people in our organization and ensure everyone is treated with professionalism and respect.’
The franchise concluded by stating that it does not comment on individual personnel matters involving former employees in order to maintain ‘trust and safety’ throughout its internal investigative processes.
It remains unclear whether a formal police report was ever filed regarding the alleged sexual harassment incident involving the staff member.
Turner, who was an All-Defensive First Team selection in 2020 and 2021 during her time with the Phoenix Mercury, joined the Las Vegas Aces on a one-year deal ahead of the current season following her single-year stint in Indiana.
