David Coote has made headlines after a video has emerged appearing to show the Premier League referee going on a foul-mouthed rant about Liverpool and their former manager Jurgen Klopp.
The footage shared to social media on Monday appears to show the 42-year-old voicing his shocking opinions on the Reds, where he calls Klopp a ‘German ****’ and states ‘Liverpool are all f***ing b******* and we hate Scousers’.
The video which has since gone viral, was allegedly recorded back in 2020 after Liverpool’s controversial 1-1 draw against Burnley, which saw Andy Robertson angrily confront the English referee after not being awarded a penalty.

Who is David Coote?
Born on July, 11 1982, David Coote is an English football referee
He is the son of a former English cricketer David Edward Coote, who was a left-handed batsman for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.
David Coote referee career
Coote began his referee journey at the age of 14, where he started as a lineman for Wheatsheaf United in the Newark Alliance before he found his calling as a referee.
Speaking to the Newark Advertiser, Coote revealed how he exactly he ended up going into refereeing.
He said: ‘I started as a linesman for Wheatsheaf United in the Newark Alliance.
‘My Dad played for them and my Uncle was the manager at the time.
‘Local referee Andy Hind gave me a form to sign up and do the referees course, and I took it from there.
‘I quickly discovered that I had more potential as a referee than as a player, but it never truly felt like refereeing was a career option for me until I became one full-time.’
He took charge of his first match as a referee officiating an under 11’s game on the back pitch at Collingham.
From there Coote went on to referee in the Notts Alliance League, the Northern Counties East Football League, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North before he was promoted to the football league list of referees as an assistant referee.

In 2010 he was promoted to the list of Football League referees in 2010. His first major game in charge came in the 2014 League One play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
In 2018, Coote reached the pinnacle of being a referee when he officiated his first Premier League game between Newcastle and West Brom.
Coote has been involved in a number of controversial calls, the latest came last weekend during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Coote waved away two penalty appeals from Unai Emery’s men, one of which involved Conor Bradley tugging Pau Torres’ shirt as he tried to get on the end of a cross.
The other calls for a penalty came when Ibrahima Konate made a challenge on Ollie Watkins inside the area.

Who does David Coote support?
The PGMOL confirmed that the controversial referee is a Notts County fan.
His allegiance to Notts County was revealed earlier this year in February after accusations of him supporting Manchester United started to resurface during the Red Devils game against Luton.
Coote enraged Luton fans when he failed to show Casemiro a red card in the first-half of the game after the Brazilian midfielder tempted faith when he picked up a yellow card and moments later committed an unnecessary foul which went unpunished.
