Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen both booked their place in the 2025 World Darts Championship final last night in spectacular fashion.
Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen cruised through his semi final clash against Chris Dobey, beating the Englishman 6-1 and tonight he will be aiming to win his fourth title, having last lifted the Sid Waddell Trophy in 2019.
Teenage sensation, Littler matched his final opponent’s impressive win by recording his very own 6-1 victory over Stephen Bunting, registering a near unbeatable average of 105.48.
This will be the 13th meeting between the pair in just 12 months and so far there is nothing to separate them.
The newly establish rivals come into the blockbuster showdown tied 6-6 in their head-to-head meetings.

World Darts Championship prize money
The total prize pot for this year’s World Darts Championship is a whopping £2.5m.
A first round exit alone saw player’s walk out with £7,500, with their purse increasing if they managed to progress further into the competition.
Either Luke Littler or Michael van Gerwen will pocket a massive £500,000 for their showing, with the runner-up set to walk away with £200,000.

Format for the final
‘The Nuke’ and ‘Mighty Mike’ will battle it out over the best of 13 sets.
Therefore the player to win seven sets will lift the Sid Waddell Trophy and take home the whopping six figure prize amount.
The number of legs required to win a set remains at three as seen throughout the rest of the tournament.
Can there be a tiebreaker?
Yes, if Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler find themselves tied after 12 sets, so 6-6, the final will go to a tiebreaker.
The tiebreak rules are as follows:
If both players are tied after 12 sets, a player must win by two clear legs, so if Littler and Van Gerwen are deadlocked at 2-2 in the 13th and final set, they must continue playing until one player goes two legs in front.
However if neither can pull ahead and they reach 5-5, the set then goes to sudden death, meaning they will play one last leg and the winner of that leg wins the match.
