Jessica Pegula jokingly thanked the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for giving her the ‘waist of my dreams’ after it posted a bizarre photoshopped image to Instagram.

The world No. 5 is set to face Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the Dubai Tennis Championships final on Saturday afternoon.

And when promoting the showdown, the WTA shared a botched image of the 31-year-old.

In the now-deleted post, the American could be seen standing next to Svitolina with a tiny waist and pieces of her arm missing from the image.

‘Wtf happened to my body (laughing emoji),’ Pegula replied in the Instagram comments.

Fellow compatriot Madison Keys, who Pegula beat in straight sets in last month’s Australian Open fourth round, also chimed in with a hilarious response.

‘That waist is SNATCHED #nophotoshop,’ Keys wrote.

Pegula added on X: ‘Thank you for giving me the waist of my dreams but I think pieces of my arm are also missing (laughing emoji) not sure what happened here.’

The WTA re-posted the image to their Instagram account without acknowledging the blunder.

But Keys was straight back into the comments, tagging Pegula and writing: ‘Body still tea.’

Many speculated whether the background removal tool picked up the white in Pegula’s outfit and wiped them out, while others flocked to social media with memes.

Pegula, who beat fellow American Amanda Anisimova in the Dubai semi-final on Friday, jibed that having her ‘dream’ body ‘felt good while it lasted’.

It is not the first time she has found herself at the heart of social media entertainment this week.

When a fan replied to a post – stating Pegula had made the semi-finals of every event she has competed in since the 2025 US Open – to ask how many she has converted to titles, Pegula gave a sharp response.

‘Zero my friend. Dubai is pending,’ she wrote.
