Webinars are taking place throughout January 2025 to provide guidance on new fire regulations that will be introduced later this year.
The Department of Finance (DoF) is hosting webinars to provide information and guidance on local building regulations being updated to improve fire safety standards, particularly for residential buildings and houses. The webinars will help industry prepare for the changes coming into effect on 6 May 2025.
New fire regulations
The new requirements include the provision of fire safety information for most types of premises undergoing building work. They also introduce evacuation alert systems, secure information boxes, wayfinding signage, and appropriate fire suppression systems, such as sprinklers, in new high-rise residential buildings.
