UK launches first national university network for women entrepreneurs
A group of leading UK universities has launched the WE Innovate National Network, the first national programme to support and grow female-led start-ups from universities.
Led by Imperial College London, the network includes Durham University, the University of Glasgow, Swansea University, and Queen’s University Belfast.
The initiative builds on Imperial’s WE Innovate programme, which has supported women turning ideas into businesses since 2014. Now national, it aims to help 150 women-led teams a year and address the low number of women starting and scaling companies in the UK.
What the programme offers

- tailored masterclasses on entrepreneurship
- one-on-one coaching and mentorship
