If you ever stress about your own golf game, viewing Tuesday night’s match in the TGL may have given you some ease with the knowledge that sometimes pros mess up like we mere mortals do.
Throughout the evening, the golfers on the Jupiter Links GC and Los Angeles GC teams made a few mistakes on the simulated course in Palm Beach, Florida.
But perhaps the biggest – and funniest – mistake of the evening came in the penultimate hole when Jupiter Links’ Kevin Kisner attempted a shot out of the bunker.
Kisner was playing against Colin Morikawa in the singles portion of the evening and found himself in the greenside sand.
But his attempt to get off the beach went horribly wrong when he skulled his shot – sending it shooting out of the bunker on a beeline to the flagstick.
It smacked the pole and ricocheted off it – causing his teammates and competitors to flinch in reaction.

Kisner’s poor shot sent Tiger Woods into hysterics as he couldn’t stop laughing to himself
The poor shot got a laugh out of Jupiter Links’ captain, Tiger Woods, who was seen cackling on slow-motion instant replay. When the broadcast cut out of the replay, Woods was still chuckling – unable to control himself.
One guesses that all Woods could do was laugh – especially considering the golfer’s team had a poor debut in the high-tech golf league that he helped create.
On a night where Woods strutted out to the song ‘Eye of the Tiger’, his team simply could not rise up to the challenge of their rival.
Jupiter Links were thoroughly outclassed by the LAGC team of Morikawa, Justin Rose, and Sahith Theegala – losing 12-1 on the night.
By the time the triples portion of the evening had ended, LAGC was already up 8-1 and Jupiter had a massive mountain to climb in the singles event. They didn’t manage to score a single point in the final six holes – halving the tenth and 12th, while losing holes 11, 13, 14, and 15.
TGL returns next Tuesday night when the New York Golf Club team of Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young face off against the Atlanta Drive GC team of Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, Billy Horschel, and Justin Thomas.
It’ll be Atlanta’s debut in the league. New York played on the league’s opening night, losing to The Bay Golf Club 9-2.
After that match, only one team will be left to make their debut: the Boston Common Golf team of Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, and Adam Scott.
