A beach has turned purple following a suspected oil spill, a council has said.
Lancaster City Council has asked people to stay away from Half Moon Bay in Heysham following the “pollution incident”.
The council said it was working with other authorities, including Lancaster police, to investigate the suspected spill.
It warned “residual contamination” could be present and asked people not to touch any visible oil or tar.
