More than 10,000 potholes have been repaired in the Shropshire Council area since the council’s new administration took control of the council on 26 May [2025], latest figures show.
And more than 1000 of these have been repaired since 23 June by the additional pothole team set up by the council to help tackle potholes.
Every day Shropshire Council and its contractors have teams out across the county making high-quality repairs and helping to keep roads safe. This video shows just one of the ways that potholes are being tackled on Shropshire’s roads.
David Vasmer, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for highways and environment, said:
“Repairing potholes and improving Shropshire’s roads is a key priority for the new administration and we know that it’s really important for residents too, and we’re making real improvements.”
