Victoria Beckham is focusing on her children as she and her husband David Beckham face challenges in the public eye.

The fashion designer, 52, opened up about supporting her former soccer star husband, 50, and their four children during Tuesday’s episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. Her comments come months after her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, revealed that he’d cut ties with her and David, and accused them of “trying endlessly” to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

During the Today episode, host Jenna Bush Hager said that Victoria had a “pretty challenging year” and asked her how she “gets through the tough times.”

Victoria skirted around the public rift with her eldest child in her response, saying, “Me and David, we are so close, and we have incredible people around us. We’re very close to my parents, David’s parents. We support each other through everything we do.”

“We always put our children first,” she added. “We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children.”

She said that she’s “blessed” to have David in her life, while noting how much they’ve “grown together.”

“We’ve both got big dreams. We’re both very, very ambitious,” the former Spice Girls member said. “I want him to be the best version of himself, and that’s what he wants for me.”

David and Victoria, who’ve been married since 1999, have four children: Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21 and Harper, 14.

Victoria was asked about the situation with Brooklyn during a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal. However, the outlet noted that in her response, she did not mention his name.

“I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much,” she said. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”

In January, Brooklyn launched an attack on his parents in a lengthy Instagram post, claiming he has been controlled by a “family that values public promotion above all else.” He insisted that he has no wish to reconcile with his family and is “standing up” for himself “for the first time” in his life.

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” Brooklyn wrote. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

Brooklyn also addressed previous reports that his mother “hijacked” his and Nicola’s first dance at their 2022 wedding, writing: “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everybody. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

Anthony has since spoken out, refuting Brooklyn’s claims that he controversially invited Victoria to have the first dance at Brooklyn’s wedding. He told The Hollywood Reporter in February that it’s “extremely unfortunate” how the situation has “played out,” but added that what has been claimed is “hardly the truth.”

Victoria has not yet directly addressed her son’s explosive accusations.
