UCLA security guard dubbed ‘the ultimate Karen’ for chasing young girl who stormed field after upset victory

A security guard has been slammed online after he tried to stop a young girl and her dad from storming the field following UCLA’s upset victory over Penn State.

The Bruins stunned the No. 7 Nittany Lions on Saturday with a 42-37 home victory – leading fans to storm the Rose Bowl field after.

However, one security guard set his sights on a young girl and her father who had made their way onto the field.

As seen in a video from reporter Colin Ward, the male security guard jogged over to the two fans and tried to stop the girl from advancing.

However, her dad dragged her forward with his hand and – despite her falling at one point – they ultimately outraced the guard.

Nonetheless, fans had some harsh words for the security guard, who was dubbed the ‘ultimate Karen’ by Bussin’ with the Boys.

‘This might be the most unatheletic play I have ever seen. I hope he hangs up the boots and never comes back on a field,’ one said.

‘Security guard should be fired. Let them celebrate,’ another added, with a laughing-crying emoji.

‘The guy spent his Saturday with his young daughter and took her to a game that should have been a blowout loss,’ a third said. ‘Let them enjoy the memory together. But I guess outrunning security makes the story better for years to come haha.’

Others claimed that the guard was actually ‘pretending’ to do his job and let the father-daughter duo on the field.

Regardless, it was a special day for UCLA fans as their team knocked off one of the best teams in college football after entering the day winless.

In a heartwarming scene, interim offensive coordinator Jerry Neuheisel was hoisted in the air after the game and doused in Gatorade following the big upset.

Neuheisel’s father, Rick, previously coached the team and was seen giddily celebrating the win on CBS Sports.

The younger Neuheisel was also seen celebrating the win with his wife in an emotional moment on the field.

‘I love UCLA more than anything,’ the coordinator said after the game.

‘And the kind of kids that you see that played on that field today is exactly why you love a place like this.

‘…How can you not love college football when you have days like this? Special, special, special.’

UCLA, who parted ways with offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri this week, will face Michigan State next as they look to continue their momentum.

Penn State, meanwhile, will host Northwestern next.
