Tyreek Hill’s Miami Dolphins career is likely OVER after season-ending ACL injury, shock report claims

Tyreek Hill’s time with the Dolphins is likely over following his gruesome knee injury earlier this week, a report has claimed.

Hill, 31, dislocated his left knee and tore his ACL in the second half of his team’s win over the Jets on Monday.

The speedster’s foot appeared to be pointing in the wrong direction as he went down along the sideline, and ultimately received season-ending surgery to remedy the issue.

Now, CBS Sports’ Jonathon Jones has reported that league sources expect Miami to release Hill ahead of the 2026 season.

Hill, who previously declared he was ‘out’ of Miami at the end of last season, ultimately patched things up with the franchise and remained with the team.

As part of the three-year, $90million extension he signed with the franchise in August 2024, Hill has a non-guaranteed $29.9million base salary for next year.

However, the Dolphins would owe Hill $11million in injury guarantees and a $5million roster bonus if he is still on the roster by March 14.

Jones did note that Hill returning to the Dolphins ‘cannot be ruled out,’ though – at the very least – it seems highly unlikely that he would come back under the same contractual terms following his serious injury.

Hill underwent surgery on Tuesday as he thanked fans for their support.

‘Tyreek Hill here, the Cheetah, about to go in for this surgery,’ the 31-year-old receiver told his social media followers from his hospital bed. ‘Keep your boy in your prayers. You guys have been awesome man.’

Hill continued, saying the ‘entire NFL has been amazing, sending me lots of love, lots of prayers.’

‘I’m absolutely honored, man, granted, the situation, but I love you guys so much,’ he concluded. ‘Hope to see you soon. Cheetah.’

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, later told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the surgery went well and that he would not need another procedure

Rosenahus expects Hill to play next season.

Following a down year in 2024, Hill had been having a productive season for the Dolphins, as he racked up 265 receiving yards and a touchdown through three games.

Hill is a five-time All-Pro and led the league in 2023 as he posted a scintillating 1,799 receiving yards.

Miami managed to defeat the Jets 27-21 after Hill went down earlier this week.

They will face the Panthers on Sunday.
