The Denver Broncos broadcast team were fooled by a fake news report about Micah Parsons, which they showed during their game against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Parsons, the All-Pro linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, has been the subject of intense offseason speculation following his trade request.

The situation has opened the door to a wave of unverified reports and fake quotes about his future and potential destinations, with many emerging online.

During the third quarter of the Broncos’ 27–7 win over the Cardinals in Denver, the broadcast discussed Parsons’ possible landing spots and included a graphic citing a quote that Parsons never made.

The graphic appeared to be based on a viral post on X, which falsely quoted Parsons as saying Denver was his ideal trade destination.

The fake quote read: ‘My dream destination? Denver. I would love to play for the Broncos. They already got the best defense in the league and they have a real chance at a Super Bowl.’

Micah Parsons contract dispute and trade request has rocked the Dallas Cowboys’ offseason

The Broncos’ production team aired the claim without verifying its legitimacy, with the analyst team having a brief discussion of it, before it went viral shortly after.

One fan post read: ‘Insane: The Broncos’ broadcasting team got FOOLED by a FAKE Micah Parsons quote that went viral on X/Twitter where he stated he wants to be traded to the Broncos. Someone is getting fired’.

The game itself saw the Broncos dominate offensively, recording 562 total yards in a comfortable win. But that performance was overshadowed in part by the error during the broadcast.

Parsons, meanwhile, requested a trade amid a tense contract standoff, releasing an explosive statement that put Jerry Jones and the Cowboys in the firing line.

Jones, however, has downplayed Parsons’ trade request and urged fans not to ‘lose any sleep’ over the situation.

When asked whether he was considering Parsons’ trade request, the Dallas owner said: ‘I’m not. The facts are that I think the world of Micah, and that’s just a part of negotiation.

‘I don’t place that with any real seriousness, Micah’s got a bad back. That’s like being traded, we all weight it the same.’

Parsons and Jones haven’t always seen eye-to-eye and, back in April, the Dallas star sparked a war of words with Jones over comments about the pass rusher’s agent.
